About Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine

Helping Young Athletes in Denver Stay Safe

At the Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute, our pediatric sports medicine doctors understand young athletes don't want to quit because of an injury. We also understand parents want to make sure their athletes can return to the game safely and quickly.

We work exclusively with student athletes to manage, rehabilitate and prevent sports injuries, so we know how to meet your expectations. Our physicians are experts in their field, and are at the forefront of research and innovation in sports medicine. In fact, Dr. Brooke Pengel is an active member of the Executive Committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness (AAP COSMF), and recently supported the development of an official policy statement on tackling in youth football.

We provide comprehensive care for the following unique sports-related medical needs of children and teens:

  • Detailed assessments
  • Surgical and non-surgical treatment options
  • Onsite state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging (x-ray and MRI)
  • Casting/bracing
  • Counseling on safe return to play
  • Injury prevention and performance training
  • Physical therapy
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Same day or next day appointments

Our pediatric sports medicine specialists in Denver are equipped to diagnose, treat and manage the following injuries in children and teens:
